You will work alongside top-tier industry experts to build a product that is redefining the future of aviation.<br>Our client is an ambitious US-based startup developing one of the most technically demanding autonomous aircraft in existence today. We are seeking a visionary and high-caliber technical leader to take full ownership of the system\u2019s &#8220;brain&#8221; \u2014 the navigation stack that ensures stability and flight safety in the most challenging environments.<br>This is a role for those who want to see their code in the sky, powering aircraft capable of 20-hour autonomous missions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">As aN Engineer, you will<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>You will design and implement the firmware layer closest to the physical aircraft:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Hardware-to-Software Bridge:<\/strong> Develop hardware abstraction layers (HAL) and sensor device drivers directly from hardware datasheets and schematics.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Architecture &amp; Real-time Logic:<\/strong> Design RTOS task architectures, inter-system communication protocols, and mission-critical failsafe logic.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Hardware Collaboration:<\/strong> Work alongside the client\u2019s electrical engineers, contributing code that runs on the <strong>V3 flight computer<\/strong> under hard real-time constraints.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Validation:<\/strong> Set up <strong>Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL)<\/strong> test infrastructure to ensure every firmware component is validated against a simulated aircraft before it ever takes flight.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, COMPETENCIES AND EXPERIENCE<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>5+ years writing firmware in C and\/or C++ on production embedded hardware<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>RTOS experience: FreeRTOS, Zephyr, or similar in a real product context<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Device driver development from hardware datasheets: SPI, I2C, CAN, UART<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Board bring-up and hardware debugging with oscilloscope \/ logic analyzer<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hardware Abstraction Layer design and implementation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strong written and spoken English \u2014 all technical documentation and client reviews are in English.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">ADDITIONAL SKILLS THAT WILL BE AN ADVANTAGE<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Experience in safety-adjacent applications: automotive, industrial, medical, or aviation-adjacent<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>WCET (worst-case execution time) analysis and real-time task scheduling<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>MAVLink or custom UAV telemetry protocol implementation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>HIL (hardware-in-the-loop) test environment setup<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Experience collaborating with hardware teams in different time zones<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Degree in electronics engineering computer engineering, or embedded systems<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Client and Domain<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Client:<\/strong> a aerospace product company<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Country:<\/strong> USA<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Domain:<\/strong> Aviation &amp;
