AI Engineer (Skin Diagnostics)

Insoftex LLC is seeking a skilled AI Engineer to build an MVP of a facial skin diagnostics solution for a US-based startup client. The system will analyze photos of facial skin and provide users with personalized skin health insights and product recommendations.

What You’ll Do:

  • Design and implement a computer vision pipeline for facial skin image analysis
  • Fine-tune pre-trained models (EfficientNet, ViT, ResNet or similar) for skin condition classification
  • Build and expose a clean REST API for mobile/web frontend integration
  • Work with the team to define ML architecture and recommend approaches based on available data
  • Collaborate in discovery phase — requirements may evolve as client aligns on scope

Requirements:

Must-Have

  • 3+ years of experience in Computer Vision / Deep Learning
  • Strong hands-on experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow
  • Proven track record with transfer learning and fine-tuning pre-trained models
  • Experience building image classification or segmentation models end-to-end
  • Python proficiency — FastAPI or Flask for API layer
  • Portfolio or GitHub with relevant Computer Vision projects

Soft Skills

  • Comfortable working with ambiguous requirements in early-stage MVP environments
  • Strong written English communication — async-friendly collaboration
  • Able to explain technical decisions to non-technical stakeholders

Nice-to-Have:

  • Experience with dermatology, medical imaging, or beauty tech datasets
  • Familiarity with AWS SageMaker, GCP Vertex AI, or similar ML platforms
  • Knowledge of on-device inference — TensorFlow Lite, Core ML
  • Understanding of data privacy requirements for sensitive imagery (HIPAA awareness)
  • Familiarity with FDA SaMD or FTC guidelines for AI health/beauty applications
