Power Quality & Energy Management Solutions
We are looking for an experienced Automation Engineer / SDET with a solid educational background in Electrical Engineering. This role is ideal for someone who feels comfortable working at the intersection of software, embedded systems, and electrical power technologies.
You will design and develop automated tests in Python, interact with real hardware devices, and occasionally contribute to the product codebase. A strong understanding of electrical systems is essential to simulate real-world scenarios and validate the accuracy and stability of advanced power quality equipment.
Our customer is an Israeli product company and a global leader in power quality analyzers, real-time power factor correction systems, and energy-optimization solutions used by industrial, commercial, and utility organizations worldwide.
As an Engineer, you will:
Automation & Test Development
- Design, implement, and maintain automated test suites (primarily in Python).
- Develop test infrastructure for embedded devices and real electrical measurement equipment.
- Write tests that interact with physical hardware, including power quality analyzers and correction systems.
Software & Embedded Code Analysis
- Understand and analyze the embedded product codebase.
- Contribute minor feature updates or bug fixes when needed (SDET-style contribution).
Electrical Engineering-Based Testing
- Use EE knowledge to design realistic, electrically accurate test scenarios.
- Simulate faults (harmonics, dips, surges, load imbalances) and validate device responses.
- Verify precision of measurement, signal processing, and power factor correction algorithms.
Systems, Integrations & CI/CD
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
- Work with communication protocols such as Modbus, RS-485, TCP/IP.
- Maintain technical documentation on automation frameworks and testing methodologies
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, COMPETENCIES, AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, Automation, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in automated testing, test frameworks, or SDET roles.
- Strong hands-on experience with Python for automation.
- Ability to understand embedded system code (C, Python, or similar).
- Experience working with embedded or hardware-related systems.
- Knowledge of electrical circuits, measurement principles, and fundamentals of power quality.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
Bonus points if you have:
- Experience with high-voltage equipment or industrial power systems.
- Knowledge of signal processing: filtering, FFT, harmonic analysis.
- Experience with communication protocols used in industrial and embedded devices.
